Over the last four years trading we have experienced a number of different parameters in delivering are online orders.  We try our best to give the same services in which I would expect from any online shop that I may visit.

In the beginning I use to personally package and process all the  online orders myself.  This worked well,  I would get up in the morning check the emails, print off the online orders, go to the storeroom, pick them, package them and off I would go to the post office.  I use to belive that the most important thing was delivering our items as cheaply as possible sothey would be sent 2^nd class standard Royal Mail.

“What could possibly go wrong with the Royal Mail?”

During Easter bank holiday 2008 I experienced a unmanagable number of orders to process and that weekend I had 11 items which didn’t make it the customers.  This cost us a  fortune in both money and customer satisfaction.  I had to drastically change the way we processed our sales.    The first thing I did was increased my postage and packaging to include Recorded Delivery that way not only are the parcels insured if there are lost they are also tracked.

“It is easy to put a Royal Mail tracking number into the Royal Mail website and you can track exactly where your parcel is and who receives it. What can you do for international orders?”

When the order numbers increased I noticed that mistakes where being made and help is needed!  After going through a nightmare experience with my first personal assistant I finally started working with an outsource company AnaKan who manage all Minnie Moo distribution and now days it runs like clockwork and our customer satisfaction is 5 star even EBay has given us our first Bronze Star for customer service! This was a direct response to Anna Kay and her reliable customer service and organisational skills.

So for the last 9 months we’ve had a 100% customer satisfaction record, something I’m very proud of and wish to continue.

On the other hand of Online Order Delivery

I have been on the other end of this situation, I use to buy items from an online Heath and Beauty reseller and one day I didn’t receive my online order.  I emailed James my Account Manager and he told me that there must of been some mistake as the online order was never processed.  I had empathy and waited patiently for my items to be delivered.  A month later I was still waiting, I sent over 8 mails and I recieved not one reply.

“I suggested that he gave me a full refund and that I would buy again from the website, but still no reply.”

I paid by credit card and informed my bank, they asked me to fill in a claim form and I eventually received my £39.99.    It’ was such a shame that thier customer service wasn’t a little better as I would have continued trading with them if they would have just refunded me the cost of the items or answered any of my emails.

I have a customer service question for you:

What does a customer expect if an order doesn’t arrive?

Possibilities to ponder:

1.       The online reseller may not have sent the item, either by mistake of malice.

2.       The item is genuinely lost within the postal system

3.       The item was delivered to neighbours and they forgot to give it to the buyer

4.       The item was delayed and the buyer didn’t notify the seller that the item arrived after they seller had given a full refund.

Mrs. Minnie Moo® (me, Amanda) has taking the development of the NEW Minnie® Moo Maxi toddler car seat beyond not just a parents expectations but we’ve taken on board the feedback from every Mum and Dad whos has contacted us;

We combind all the ideas and feedback from the customers who bought the original toddler car seat cover which was launched at the Baby Show Excel 2009.  One hundred and fifty Mums tested the cover and a few of them let us know exactly what they thought of it; we were overwhelmed by all the happy mummy’s and we made good use of the feedback on how we could make improve the toddler car seat.   A Minnie Moo® Mummy, Lynn aka Head of Research and Development was currently using a Maxi Cosi Priori XP and this was specifically one of the car seats that the older Minnie Moo® maxi struggled to fit, she kindly drew on the back of her Maxi Moo™ cover where the additional holes needed to be and gauged how much larger the Maxi needed to be to fit the Priori.

When the new Minnie Moo® Maxi ‘s finally arrived the we were all so excited to try it!

The Head of Research and Development (Moo Mummy Lynnie), promptly got her sons car seat from the car and we all watched to see if all the hard work paid off.

It always seems like  such a long time between choosing the material, designing the fabric, creating the pattern, fitting it and testing it, just when you have forgotten about the new products they turn up and you are able to see the improvements compared to the old one with your own eyes.  I can’t say that I always do things perfectly, but I do things the way I can with the amount of time and money I have.  In business you need to be fast, effective and efficient, but it’s not always possible.  If you don’t get your products into the market as quickly and efficiently as possible there’ always the chance that another bigger company will beat you to it and as they have the infrastructure in place to get into the market very efficiently.

Fitting the Car Seat Hood
